Directions

Location: 11 Koromiko Road, Highbury, Wellington, New Zealand.

Online map: See below...

GPS Units: sometimes send you up the wrong roads after you leave Aro St. The hillsides are steep and roads are maybe too close together for some units to separate them out properly...

Driving directions from the city: turn into Aro Street - this becomes Raroa Road at the bottom of a steep hill. Turn left on the second ‘S’ bend into Mt Pleasant Road, wind up the hill for 500m and take the first turn on the right, and follow around onto Koromiko Road - #11 has path lights and steps uphill behind a green and purple letterbox.  There is a 'No parking zone' (yellow road marks) on the corner, but there should be plenty of parking either side.

Mt Pleasant Rd. is a steep narrow uphill two-way road with parked cars, blind corners and a 15kph speed limit!

Driving directions from the airport: Follow State Highway 1 signs from airport through Mt Victoria tunnel. Go around Basin Reserve into Buckle St, turn left into Taranaki St., then immediately right into Webb St.  Go into right lane at end of Webb St and turn right into Willis St., then immediately left into Aro Street - this becomes Raroa Rd. at the bottom of a steep hill. Driving directions from the motorway State Highway 1: Go right to the very end of the motorway - just before the end of the motorway you will go through a tunnel.

Go straight across the first set of motorway traffic lights into Vivian St. (one-way street) and immediately get into the right-hand lane. Turn right into Victoria St. - part of a 'circular' one-way system.  This right-hand turn is the first possibility to turn right after the motorway – it’s only 50m along from the motorway.  Go straight up Victoria St. across one set of traffic lights towards a 'T' junction.

Shift to the right-hand lane just before the 'T' junction and follow the traffic flow onto Webb St.  At the next set of traffic lights (only 25m along Webb St.) turn right into Willis St. and on the turn cross all three lanes into the far left-hand lane and immediately make a sharp left-hand turn (across a pedestrian crossing) into Aro St. - a two-way city street.

This turn into Aro St. is just after the lights… but no problem if you overshoot - just keep going straight ahead on Willis through more traffic lights (motorway entrance cross-traffic), and keep in the right-hand lane to a second set of lights on Willis where you turn right (in the right-hand lane) into Vivian St.  Then repeat the one-way loop over again by taking the first right at the next lights into Victoria (as above).

Follow Aro St. for about 500m past a small cluster of shops.  Aro St. becomes Raroa Rd. at the bottom of a steep hill.
